Kusadasi lies on the northern Aegean reaches of the gulet cruising routes, but is the number one cruise ship port in Turkey, as the ruins of the great Roman city Ephesus lie just 18km away  where cruise ship guests take tours. It is definitely a site to see for any visitor, and gulet guests should make the most of their more flexible time to see it, together with Selcuk town with the Ephesus Museum and St John’s Basilica. In Kusadasi  town itself a wealth of shopping, restaurants, bars and clubs along with waterparks can amuse visitors. The town is also a mere hour to Izmir airport, and a little more to Izmir city centre itself. The Dilek National Park which lies just to the south of Kusadasi, offers a complete contrast of hills and forests holding a treasure trove of bird, animal and plant life, while ferries connect to the large Greek island of Samos nearby.
